Have you heard about Holland Bloorview’s Change for Kids program they’re running for Halloween? It’s a wonderful way to support groundbreaking research and programs that have the potential to change the world for kids with disabilities and I encourage you to participate if you can! Here are the details:
Trick-or-treaters have the opportunity to receive a Change for Kids coin in their trick-or-treat bags this October 31st – each child who receives a coin has the chance to win amazing prizes by entering their coins’ PIN online, like Cineplex movie passes and Toys “R” Us gift cards!
Everyone who enters a PIN code on the Change for Kids website will be entered into a grand prize draw, and the winner will receive a trip for their family and nine other families of their choice to Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls. Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Get a Change for Kids coin card.
Then register online. If you already have a Change for Kids coin card, please click the ‘Activate or Purchase’ tab at www.changeforkids.ca. If you have not yet registered, the system will prompt you to do so. Your information is confidential.
Each Change for Kids coin card costs $5 and contains 20 coins.
You can get your Change for Kids coin card in a variety of ways. Starting October 4, 2012, you can buy an activated card at any Scotiabank branch in the GTA for $5. Change for Kids coin cards obtained from other distributors, such as Spirit Halloween, Costco, Toys“R”Us, newspapers or magazines must be activated for $5 online. Cards can be activated until October 31, 2012 at 6:59 p.m.
Step 2: Hand out coins to trick-or-treaters.
Pop out the coins from your card and give them to trick-or-treaters at your door or hand them out at Halloween parties. Be sure to activate your card here before you hand out the coins.
Note: Change for Kids coin cards purchased directly from Scotiabank branches are already activated and do not need to be activated online.
Step 3: Tell kids and their parents to enter their PIN online to win prizes.
Each coin has a unique PIN code. With the help of a parent or guardian, kids can enter their PIN code here for their chance to win instant prizes and be entered into a final draw. There are more than 500 prizes to be won, including a Grand Prize weekend stay at Great Wolf Lodge for your family and 9 other families of your choice! And, every time a child enters a PIN code, Scotiabank will make a $5 donation* to Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital.
