Activities We Did:
We went on the bucket swing and the slide which my toddler loved but got bored after a while. The good thing is there are things kids can play with on the castles there which is entertaining and will keep them occupied.
Good to Go!:
I heard from a resident there that the trail can go all the way to the Lake Shore so good walk as this park/trail is all the way up north, intersection Bayview and Steeles. There’s also 3 tennis courts for those who would want to play. The public school also have a playground for older kids which was fun especially if your kid’s bored of the baby/smaller playground. There’s also a baseball field if kids want to play there. I’m guessing it’s first come first serve, not sure how that works as we’re into that yet.
Quick Tips for Others:
Parking isn’t too bad, just need to look at the signs as the street’s kind of narrow so side street might be better than right in front of the trail/playground.

The lower floor of this library has a nice children’s section. There are toys for kids (stuffed animals, beads-on-a-wire toys, Lego, cars, little foam blocks and more), along with books and small work desks for kids. There’s a family washroom located on this floor too (though it doesn’t have a change table).
I haven’t been yet but this library also runs Drop In Storytimes. There’s Baby Storytime (0-18months), Toddler Storytime (19 – 36 months), Preschool Storytime (3 – 5 Y) and Family Storytime (all ages).

This pool is fantastic for little ones. We took our 11 month old there to swim for the first time and the facility is very family friendly. It’s relatively new, clean and well-organized. The pool is warm, has a circular ramp to enter (no ladder, as in traditional pools) and has less chlorine. There are even toys provided (and the toys are in good condition), along with an exersaucer-type flotation device where you can put kids. There is a family changeroom, with a large shower stall (but only 1), lockers (bring your own lock) and a bench.
Cost: $3.85 per adult. We bought a pack of 10 sessions for $35.03.

Activities We Did:
walked around to see the african animals but it was really crowded today so didn’t get to see much plus my 17 month toddler was fussy and tired plus fell after running too fast so wasn’t happy times at all. the lines was ridiculously long, disorganize
Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:
the lines were way too long and too crowded. not sure if it’s worth the yearly membership i spent money plus parking. hopefully the next time we go it won’t be that chaotic.
Quick Tips for Others:
maybe go in the middle of the week, not a friday where some parents might take day off for a long weekend esp when school is almost out.

Good to Go!:
The Goodlife Fitness gyms at Loblaws that are for women only offer child care when you work out.
Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:
The child care is not free, and you can pay for drop in, or sign up monthly. Also, the child care is only available during certain hours, and the facilities and toys vary from gym to gym.
The Goodlife Fitness in the Loblaws near Bayview and Hwy 7 has a fairly spacious facility for kids, with shelves of toys, infant swings and more.

Activities We Did:
Sing songs, stories, parachutes, puppets, toys and more!
Quick Tips for Others:
Sometimes parking is hard to find in this busy Community Centre and shopping plaza, so I often park on the west side of the building (by the Thornhill arena) and walk through the building to the OEYC.
The Singable Stories program led by Leslie at this OEYC is fantastic! It’s for 0 – 18 month old babies and in just half an hour, there are a wide variety of activities. A lot of the songs are different from songs at other Early Years Centres, with a variety of actions that go with them. There are also puppets or other props that go with the songs, 1 story book that goes with a song, and parachute time. Leslie also remembers all the babies’ names and sings goodbye to them at the end. This is my fav OEYC program so far!

Diaper-eez is a family run business that was very helpful when we started cloth diapering our new born. As first time parents, we had a lot to learn and the Diaper-eez owner was extremely helpful with our questions and gave us some tips on how to fold cloth diapers, how to avoid diaper rash, how to clean cloth diapers, etc. She also gives advice over the phone, when we had some more questions about her products. They mail products to your home too (they pay the cost of mailing to you), so you don’t have to trek out to the west end if it’s not convenient.

Activities We Did:
Gentle yoga class.
The studio was relatively new at the time, so the space was clean and newly renovated.
The class was small (less than 4 women) and drop-in (not pre-registered). The instructor always modified the poses to address the various aches and pains of the pregnant women in the class!
Melanie – I couldn’t post this without putting a child’s age, so I put 1 week, even though it should be 0 weeks, since the baby wasn’t born yet

I don't really have any negatives except that my daughter drives me nuts sometimes asking to hear the songs over and over and singing them constantly at the top of her voice.

Activities We Did:
I came across Music Together again (I had avoided it as it was mixed ages and I was skeptical. However, I signed up for a demo class and decided to try it. We sang, danced around, played instruments and listened to music.
Good to Go!:
My daughter loved the easy catchy songs. We were given a few CDs at the first class which she asks to listen to often. She memorized many songs quickly. The teachers are very kind and gentle with wonderful voices and musical talent. The other moms&children are welcoming&there’s a good vibe.My daughter loves the moving around, actions and that the class has repetition so that she’s comfortable and feels comfortable participating and safe but also changes enough that she’s never bored. The classes are 45 minutes and offered in various locations at all different times. They’re in East and West Toronto as well as Sumerhill, Rosedale, Midtown and ABC Music Academy near St Clair and Oakwood. They are different franchises though so contact your area. Make up classes are allowed and scheduled online. Classes are offered though summer and there are 19 different sessions so it’s not repetitive each session. My daughter asks almost daily “Mommy I want to go to Music Class Please!” and talks about Cindy and Lauren all the time. I love that she loves it! I honestly feel it’s money well spent.
Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:
There are a lot of babies in the classes and one demo class we did was predominantly babies. I asked a lot of questions and tried two, one on the Danforth (we chose that one) and one in the Annex (different franchise so they didn’t know I did both). The one we chose has lots of kids Maya’s age and the babies are mainly sibling of older kids. The Annex class had a different groove and there were less kids my daughter’s age which many not matter but I wanted her to feel comfortable and not that she was with “babies’ as she calls them.
