    Date of Visit: April 2012
Event/ Program/ Class Name: Sock Puppets Weekend Programming

    Activities We Did:

Made a sock puppet, explored the exhibits, and thought about trying on shoes, but my daughter wasn’t interested and all but one were adult-sized and the heels were enormous!

    Good to Go!:

My daughter enjoyed making the sock puppet. Exhibits were small but I mildly enjoyed walking around looking at the different shoes- ballet shoes, space shoes, chestnut crushing shoes, spiritual shoes, and more.

Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:

We were alone in the room making a sock puppet. It would have been nice for there to have been a staff person or friendly student volunteer to show us examples and interact with my daughter.
The corner where you can try on shoes was small, no benches or anywhere to sit but the floor. Most were high heels which I would consider unsafe for children to try on. I’d be afraid my daughter would take a tumble and twist her ankle!

I enjoyed taking a look at the exhibits but my daughter got bored fast. All in all we were there for an hour and a half tops.

    Quick Tips for Others:

They have a gift shop but do not sell snacks or drinks so come prepared. I didn’t see a baby change station in the washroom. You can park on side streets or paid lots.
