Activities We Did:
I came across Music Together again (I had avoided it as it was mixed ages and I was skeptical. However, I signed up for a demo class and decided to try it. We sang, danced around, played instruments and listened to music.
Good to Go!:
My daughter loved the easy catchy songs. We were given a few CDs at the first class which she asks to listen to often. She memorized many songs quickly. The teachers are very kind and gentle with wonderful voices and musical talent. The other moms&children are welcoming&there’s a good vibe.My daughter loves the moving around, actions and that the class has repetition so that she’s comfortable and feels comfortable participating and safe but also changes enough that she’s never bored. The classes are 45 minutes and offered in various locations at all different times. They’re in East and West Toronto as well as Sumerhill, Rosedale, Midtown and ABC Music Academy near St Clair and Oakwood. They are different franchises though so contact your area. Make up classes are allowed and scheduled online. Classes are offered though summer and there are 19 different sessions so it’s not repetitive each session. My daughter asks almost daily “Mommy I want to go to Music Class Please!” and talks about Cindy and Lauren all the time. I love that she loves it! I honestly feel it’s money well spent.
Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:
There are a lot of babies in the classes and one demo class we did was predominantly babies. I asked a lot of questions and tried two, one on the Danforth (we chose that one) and one in the Annex (different franchise so they didn’t know I did both). The one we chose has lots of kids Maya’s age and the babies are mainly sibling of older kids. The Annex class had a different groove and there were less kids my daughter’s age which many not matter but I wanted her to feel comfortable and not that she was with “babies’ as she calls them.
I don’t really have any negatives except that my daughter drives me nuts sometimes asking to hear the songs over and over and singing them constantly at the top of her voice.
