Activities We Did:
Decorated a (very small) gingerbread house, took a picture with Santa (extra $15), magic show and school of wizardry in the Conservatory.
Good to Go!:
If it weren’t for the shows I would have given this a half star activity rating. The shows were really well done. My daughter sat through the whole magic show ($1 extra but included in the program we paid for). Quite a few disappearing and reappearing tricks, ‘floating’ boxes and balls. Even the adults looked impressed! The school of wizardry show was well done too and I learned a few tricks myself!
Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:
For the Elves in a Workshop program I was expecting much much more. I was expecting a room filled with Christmas decorations and some holiday music playing. I knew the gingerbread house would be small but it was REALLY SMALL. So I was severely disappointed. Basically we just sat at a round table with 2 other children and everyone decorated their own tiny gingerbread house. We got a small packet of icing (no extra icing if you run out- we asked!), 2 Halloween sized Smartie boxes, and 2 small containers of sprinkles. There was coffee. I don’t remember seeing hot chocolate. And the cookies were meh. On the upside, the staff were very nice. It would have been nice if they had been dressed up like elves or Mrs. Claus or something..
On the way back down we decided it would be nice to have a picture of all of us with Santa. Santa however was very sick, coughing up a storm. We opted to sit on the chairs on either side so we wouldn’t have to get too close. The picture was ok but not worth the $15. At least there wasn’t a line up like at the mall!
We didn’t really go exploring the castle too much but there didn’t seem like there was much to explore. I spent $23/ adult, $18.50 for my daughter, $9 for parking. Not worth it IMO.
Quick Tips for Others:
Leave your stroller in the coat room. The stairs are long and the uppermost staircase is pretty narrow.
