    Activities We Did:

Slides, apple picking, horse ride, petting zoo/farm, had lunch outdoors.

    Good to Go!:

A great place for a day trip with your kids! My 3 year old daughter loved it.

Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:

Not enough seating for having lunch – had to look for a table for 15 minutes before we could sit down.

    Quick Tips for Others:

Get there early – as early as they open. By noon, there is a 3km lineup all the way from 401!

    Activities We Did:

I went blueberry picking with my daughter and granddaughter. It wasn’t far to walk to get to the patch and my granddaughter enjoyed the novelty of picking the berries she loves to eat which normally just show up on her plate.

    Good to Go!:

There is an enclosure with goats, chickens, rabbits, turkeys etc. Also pony rides for the slightly older kids. There is also a nice country store which sells all sorts of goodies.

Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:

There is really not all that much to do for little children.

Date of Visit: 23 October, 2011

    Activities We Did:

Fed animals, walked through gently haunted forest, wagon ride to pumpkin patch.

    Good to Go!:

The haunted forest was well done, the animals were eager to be fed and there were a lot of pumpkins to pick. All in all a nice outing.

Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:

Very muddy. The rides to the pumpkin patch were very crowded.

    Quick Tips for Others:

    Wear boots.

    Children's Ages: 2.5 years; 10 months

    Activities We Did:

Fed the goats and chickens with corn, went on the gently haunted forest walk (5- 10 mins), wagon ride to the pick-your-own pumpkin patch. There’s also an area with haystacks for kids to run around and climb up on.

    Good to Go!:

Good value- $3 pp for 3 yrs and up! This includes the “gently haunted forest” walk, wagon rides, farm animals (goats, chickens and turkeys), and playground (more for older children). Raspberries are still ripe for picking (bushes are the perfect height for kids). You can take the wagon to pick your pumpkin or they have picked ones in bins by the store.
    - Lots of room for the kids to run around. Very picturesque with the trees starting to turn colour!
Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement: Hot dogs weren’t that great- and the buns were stale. My husband took a bite and didn’t finish it. The rest of us opted to wait to get food outside the farm.

    Quick Tips for Others:

    - Wear boots- it’s very muddy! If you have a baby and can put him/ her in a carrier, I’d advise it. We actually left the stroller by the entrance and carried our little guy around.
    - There’s no room on the wagon to take your stroller and the pumpkin patch is too far away to walk it.

    Activities We Did:

Blueberry picking, visited the farm animals

    Good to Go!:

    - The blueberry bushes were less than a 5 minute walk (with the strollers) from the entrance. Very easy to get to. You can also board the Berry Wagon for a ride if you wish.
    - Blueberry bushes are the perfect height for young kids (and adults really). My daughter loved it. And it beats having a sore back after bending down to pick strawberries!
    - They sell berry wine! The only other place I know of that sells berry wine is in Niagara.

Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:

    - Not many farm animals and the playground equipment isn’t really suitable for toddlers, but hey, the play area was free when I went.
    - I hate it when these places charge you if you bring your own food or when they don’t allow it in at all. In this case you have to pay $3.50 pp to bring your own food in. At least their menu is reasonably priced although not a lot of variety for picky eaters!

    Quick Tips for Others:

When I went the menu was:
    Hot Dogs $2.50
    Sausages $3.50
    Veggie Burgers $3.50
    Mini Deluxe Pizza $2.50
