    Recommend?: Good to Go!

    Event/ Program/ Class Name: hike

    Activities We Did:

There are loads of free guided hikes throughout the year but you can go on your own at any time.

    Good to Go!:

There are some unique ecosystems in Rouge Park, and there are alot of volunteer-run nature monitoring groups that study everything from bees to salamanders to birds. A great place to experience nature close to the city! There’s also a lot of history and geographical formations to enjoy.

    Quick Tips for Others:

Guided nature walks run on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays. RSVP on the website (see above). Walks focus on various things (some general, like what’s going on in spring, and some specific like listening to bird calls in the forest). Some are family friendly, dog friendly and baby/child-friendly. Detailed descriptions are on the website.
