Good to Go!:
Lots of different water play structures, with a playground next to the water area.
Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:
The water is really cold but we went on a rather hot summer day and my little guy surprisingly didn’t mind the water temperature and had fun splashing around.
Quick Tips for Others: We went on a weekday afternoon, when there were lots of older kids at summer camp. It was really busy.
Parking is plentiful and free.
There’s lots of shade so bring a blanket to sit under the trees.
A good place to play for kids who are mobile (babies who can cruise up to 10 year old kids).

Lots of water play-structures. The kids there seemed to be having lots of fun. One mom told me that she prefers this place to Great Wolf Lodge because it’s fun, but smaller so she doesn’t have to chase her kids around as much. There is a park with slides and swings beside the waterpark.
Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:
I would recommend this place for kids who can walk by themselves. When I went, there was no wading pool suitable for babies. It looked like there were some kiddie wading pools, but they were not filled with water. Also, even though it was a weekday, it was really crowded because there were a few camp groups there. Older kids were running around and screaming. The water was ice cold even though it was 30 degrees outside, so neither my 10 month old nor I could stand in it very long.
Quick Tips for Others:
Go on a hot day because the water is cold!

Hi Mama Jane!
The City has updated their website with the schedule: http://www.toronto.ca/parks/prd/facilities/complex/352/index.htm or you can call 416-396-8325 or 311 (general City information line). Hope this helps.
Hope you enjoy your next trip to Kidstown!
Melanie
Thanks for the opening time info! Saved me from having to entertain the kiddies for an extra half hr while waiting for the place to open! We had a ball!

It’s free, plenty of parking, you can eat in Kidstown or picnic in the rest of the park (picnic tables in both areas and in the shade). There are 2 wading pools, 4 or 5 bicycles with squirt guns that actually work when you pedal, a splash pad at the back with water sprays that go straight up, rings that you can walk through and get sprayed with water, and a big climbing structure with a tipping bucket (and other water features that dump water on you) at the back.
The water park is enclosed by a fence so you don’t need to worry about kids running off. Having said that, you are required to be at arm’s length of your children.
I’m impressed the City has something like this and it’s free!
Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:
This splash pad is really for children older than mine! They have two water slides side by side landing in a wading pool that is FREEZING cold. It was so cold my daughter would take 2 steps in and cry and come back out. Same with my little guy. I couldn’t stand it myself it actually hurt. The other wading pool is warmer but very small and crowded.
There weren’t any small spray features at or smaller than my children’s height. The big sprays are intimidating for them. The most fun they had was watching the tipping bucket and playing with water toys we brought (but they couldn’t really play with them in the water because as I said, it was too cold).
Quick Tips for Others:
There are washrooms and there was a hot dog stand just outside of Kidstown when we went.
Cameras are not allowed inside! I got whistled at I don’t know how many times until the lifeguard finally realized I didn’t know he was whistling at me (I’m not used to being whistled at ) and another lifeguard came to tell me.
Photos above were taken of the park before it opened. I’ll add a photo of the playground that’s beside Kidstown soon.

Free parking and free entrance to this AMAZING watermark! Change rooms & washrooms are clean. This watermark is fenced all around, so you don’t need t worry about your kids wandering of. There are many lifeguards on duty, making sure the kids follow the rules of safe water play. As you enter there is a knee to waist deep wading pool with sprayers and fun toys. As you walk in more there are 4 water cannon seats that the kids can sit at and try to spray each other with – lot’s of fun for the school age children. There is a “mushroom waterfall” that you stand underneath and don’t get wet – until you want to come out There is also a section where you can run through these hull a hoop looking pipes that spray you with water as you run in them ~ so much fun! Then at the far back there is the climbing structure with waterfalls, and the big bucket that splashes water on the kids waiting for it to fill up. To the left of there, you will find a small circle waiting pool perfect for babies. And also an area where there are small to medium sprays jetting out of the ground, lot’s of fun for babies and toddlers. Be sure to bring a few toys, but keep a close eye on them or they will be taken by other children. I suggest just a bucket and a shovel to play in the water – that would be enough. It’s a great place to spend the afternoon.
Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:
There isn’t really anywhere to spread out a blanket so be prepared for that.
Quick Tips for Others:
There isn’t much shade, so be sure to bring lotion, hats & cover ups in case the sun get’s super hot when you’re there. Bring your own snacks since the options are very limited. Bring lot’s of water or juice to stay hydrated.
I suggest leaving your stroller in the car since you could only park it along the fence and it’ll probably get wet somehow anyways. Bring a beach bag with all you need in it. Leave your valuables in the car or at home since you’ll be setting down your bag along the fence somewhere and running around the water park with your little ones having fun!
