Activities We Did:
Singing circle with hand motions, instruments (egg shakers, rhythm sticks) and some scarves to dance with.
Good to Go!:
There is ample side street parking? really trying to think of something positive to say.
Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:
In the basement of a yoga/dance studio, really sad space with no decor or color on the walls did not look appealing for kids at all. They have music from a CD (I think they give it you when you enroll so you kid learns the songs) and they played it the whole time, very little singing by the instructor herself except quietly, it was mostly listening to the music and singing along with a few motions.
Quick Tips for Others:
I’m not saying all Kindermusik classes are like this, I have to say I was disappointed after hearing so much about the program. Gymboree’s Music classes are better (they use musical themes — jazz, caribbean, etc. and it is a lot more interactive).

Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:
there was a lot of class time in which the instructor played a CD, which was not as interesting as some other types classes where the instructor plays a guitar and sings at the same time
- no make-up classes if you miss a class
- quite expensive ($300 for 16 classes, each 45 minutes long)
Quick Tips for Others:
Each class consisted of circle time with different types of movements for baby and adult, such as walking, skipping, rocking, massaging the baby, etc. There was also a part of each class that involved props (balls, drums, transparent scarves, wet sponges, paper bags).
Participants get a take-home CD of the same music that will be played in class. The songs are different from those at Early Years Centres, but the same songs are repeated over the 16 classes, which gets a bit repetitive. In addition, you get a board book, some posters, and a toy (that jingles).
