    Event/ Program/ Class Name: Drop-In

    Activities We Did:

Kids: Climbing, driving, sliding. Me: On my laptop.

    Good to Go!:

The staff was excellent, very warm and welcoming. The place felt very comfortable, almost like going to a friends place or a mother’s co-op.

Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:

Great big toys like toys cars and fire engine, climb-slide structures, and a train kids can sit on. There is also a dress-up section and books. But the place is lacking small toys…the kind that are individually labelled sitting on shelves that kids pull out and play with. The centre did not have blocks, lego, puzzles, toy animals, toy food, musical instruments, playdough, etc. The small toys really help to keeps a kids attention, specially when the kids are older. Mine are 3 and 4.5 and got a bit bored once they had climbed and driven everything (after about an hour). Thankfully, when she asked staff for a craft, they obliged and made her a castle cut-out to colour. Its understandable that the small toys require a lot more clean up time, but the kids do enjoy them.

    Quick Tips for Others:

The structured camp seems fun (we did not go, but I saw them preparing it and the camp staff seem energetic). The drop-in is a great place for younger guys (max 2.5 yrs) and/or kids who need to burn off energy. For older kids (i.e. 3 plus), I would suggest to either take a few of their friends along or only bet on 1-2 hours of active playtime.

    Drop-in play

    Good to Go!:

There was more than enough for my little guy to play with. He loved the ball pit, pushing the ride-in cars, playing with the toddler basketball net (oh wait, that was me), going down the toddler slide, and going into and out of the playhouses repeatedly.
I like the eating area. It’s fairly big compared to other places with 2 high chairs. I also like that there are snacks you can get for an inexpensive price ($1 if I remember correctly). There are plates and cups for the kids that you can use. You’re also welcome to bring in food and use the toaster oven and microwave (food must be nut free).

There’s one couch right beside the crib. I also like that there’s a playpen in the big washroom which is very convenient so you can take care of yourself too after baby has been changed! (I don’t know why more places don’t have this.)

I really like that there’s a small table where children can colour for free. My daughter would love this, as well as the trampoline and the motorized train!

This is one of a few places that does not charge for children under 1 year. Also, if you live close by, you can leave and come back in the same day without having to pay again.

Not so Much/ Suggestions for Improvement:

The playground is on the small side so not a lot of room to move around especially when it’s crowded. The enclosed baby area is also very small.

    Quick Tips for Others:

I parked on Briar Dale for free- one street behind Monkey Magoos. There’s also a Green P just off of Fallingbrook Road.

For babies not yet on the move there’s a bouncer, exersaucer, swing, and a crib setup by the window!

If I lived closer, I would come here much more often.
