More 2011 Halloween Events for Kids

Since my last post I’ve come across some other Halloween events by word of mouth and from surfing on the Internet of course.  I thought I’d share them in case you are still looking for fun things to do to celebrate Halloween in Toronto & surrounding area!

Markham Museum is holding Scaryfest on Saturday October 29 from 5- 8pm and Sunday October 30 from 3- 8pm for children 10 yrs and under.  $6 for adults, $5 for seniors/students, $4 for kids (ages 2 and under are free).  No food or drinks will be sold onsite (candy will be given out).

“Trick or treat your way around the Museum grounds where you will encounter lively and not so lively characters! Our boo-scary Blacksmith will be working his forge to a frenzied heat – make sure you stop in and hear the anvil clanking!

Come in costume, have fun and get spooky! Dress for the weather – this event is RAIN OR SHINE!”

Mississauga’s Benares Historic House has an Historic Halloween Fun event on Sunday October 30 from 4- 8pm.  Family Admission is $13.70.  Food and refreshments sold onsite.

“Reptilia shows, live music and entertainment, face painting, children’s crafts, games, spooky tours of the historic house & more!enter the haunted barn…if you dare! costume contests and a screamfest will follow the hallowe’en parade.the first 250 kids who come in costume will receive a loot bag!”

Halloween at Vaughan’s Wallace House is on Thursday October 27 and Friday October 28 from 6:30- 8:30pm.  $2 for non-members.  Refreshments served.

“Spooky decorations, children’s crafts and games and a guided walk through the village complete with ghost stories!! Your children will love it!!”

Many indoor playgrounds are having Halloween dress-up days and special activities.  Timbuktu Indoor PlayLand in North Etobicoke has a Costume & Dance Party on Sunday October 30th from 12- 2pm.  The Busy Genie in South Etobicoke has a Halloween party drop-in starting at 11:30am on Monday October 31st.  Dress your kids up in costume, enjoy free Halloween treats and music!  Just Ducky in Toronto (North) has spooky cookie decorating, a colouring contest, special Halloween balloons (costumes required) on Friday October 28th from 4-6 p.m (call to register).  All for Fun in Scarborough is selling tickets to a Halloween Party on Sunday October 30th from 12:30- 3:30pm.  At Amazon Indoor Playground in Etobicoke you can drop off your children aged 2- 8 yrs (or stay for the party if your child is 0- 2yrs!) on Tuesday October 25th or Thursday October 27th from 6:30- 7:30pm for ages 0- 4 yrs and 7:30- 8:30pm for 4- 8 yrs. They have Halloween arts and crafts, cookie decorating, costume prizes, haunted house and more for $20.

Call your local playground and see what’s going on!

    Mel, great list but the dates confuse me. I thought Saturday and Sunday before Halloween were October 27/28 and Halloween is Wednesday October 32, 2012.
